Example of Staff Committees to provide leadership to the Waste Management Program
Dr. Robert Plaxton Elementary School:
STAFF GREEN TEAM
- Consists of teaching staff, administration and caretaking (where possible)
- Committee meets as needed to discuss eco-stewardship initiatives, opportunities and challenges related to eco-stewardship
- Determines possible student leadership opportunities in and around the school (such as school yard clean crew, Grade 4 recycling team roles/responsibilities, staff coulee clean-up)
- Committee reviews EcoSchools pathway programs and possible connections with current practices and programs (still in early stages of EcoSchool membership)
